Loving Your Body

As the saying goes, people come in all shapes and sizes.  Personally, I know that people come in all shapes and sizes, but at times it can be hard to love and accept the body that I have been given. With all the slender, beautiful women on the cover of magazines, to the countless amount of commercials idolizing beautiful women, it can be difficult to love my own body. But everyone is different. Not only our personalities, but our bodies also!

When I was in a hard place with accepting my body, I was given a great idea by a family friend. Each day I try to tell myself five positive statements that I love about my body. I continue to do this, and I urge you to do it as well. If this seems daunting at first, you could start out simple saying. “I love my feet because they allow me to walk.” Some days I even write down these statements because they remind me that I am wonderful just the way I am. Looking at a post-it that reminds me that I am wonderful while getting ready in the morning is a great way to start out the day.
